Why "Little Lady Katie"?
People sometimes wonder where the name Little Lady Katie came from. The funny part is that no one can really remember. It might have been Papa, or Katie’s mum, or any number of people that first said it, but the only thing everybody agrees on is that it doesn’t matter who started it. It caught on, and the whole family called her that. They just loved the name, and they loved their Katie. Of course, not everybody always loved it. When Katie was really little, it was just what she was known as, and that is all she knew. Everybody thought it was cute, and she was fine with that. As she ages through the series – from 3 to 10 – she begins to feel differently. She started to dislike it a bit as she was 7 or 8, and she really didn’t like it in grade 3. After a while, the family started to get the message, and they would only call her that from time to time. She was OK with that, and everybody worked it out. She likes being called Katie just fine.
